Ebeling Noe Associates was founded in 1996 by Marta E. Noe, AIA, as a full service architectural design firm specializing in residential design and historic preservation.  Registered in Maryland and Pennsylvania, the firm has successfully completed over 200 projects in Northern Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania.  Projects have included new homes, additions to existing homes, space planning for interior renovations, whole house transformations, and residential and agricultural outbuildings.  Included in these projects have been numerous additions and renovations to historic structures.

Marta E. Noe graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland at College Park, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.  After interning with local architects, including James T. Wollon, Jr. and Gould Architects, Marta returned to Morgan State University to earn a Master of Architecture degree.  Marta received the AIA School Medal for Excellence in the Study of Architecture in 1996.

Marta E. Noe is a member of the American Institute of Architects and completes 18 hours per year of continuing education to advance knowledge in the practice of architecture.  Courses completed in the Design School at Harvard University include “Rethinking the House:  Improving Building Performance” and   “Residential Design and Practice.”  Marta also completed “Home Modifications Across the Lifespan,” a continuing education course devoted to modifications for aging in place.  Ebeling Noe Associates is proud to have successfully completed numerous projects which have adapted homes for aging in place, and has also designed several accessible “in-law” additions to existing homes.

In 2007, the firm received the Archer-Bull Award from the Town of Bel Air for Design Excellence in Residential Building Rehabilitation.  In 2011, the firm received a Preservation Project Award from the Harford County Historic Preservation Commission for the restoration of the Proctor House. The Proctor House project also earned the firm the Archer-Bull Award for Design Excellence again in 2011. The firm remains committed to providing quality design at a reasonable cost, and to working with owners and contractors to achieve the goals of the project in harmony.  Ebeling Noe Associates has several local contractors as clients, and takes pride in designing projects that are buildable and affordable.  It is the goal of the firm to blend beauty, function and value in each project that it designs, in addition to listening to and meeting the needs and aesthetic considerations of the owner.
