The goals for the addition to this c. 1930 bungalow included the expansion of the existing eat-in kitchen and the creation of an adjacent sitting area with masonry fireplace, as well as a new first story bedroom and full bath.  A new “family” entrance was provided on the rear of the addition, to access the kitchen and back hall, and better circulation was established to a prior family room addition.  Salvaged wood was used for the new mantel and floors, as well as to wrap new structural steel beams.  Original casement windows were relocated to the new back hall; all other windows are Marvin wood products.  Wood clapboards were installed on the exterior to match the existing house and the earlier addition.  Kitchens By Request provided the cabinetry and McNutt Construction completed the project in 2012.
